South Elgin: Panton Mill Park

Panton Mill Park is a very attractive new community park. South Elgin has done an excellent job in constructing this riverfront park on the Fox River. Recently (in September) I used this park as the starting point for a bike ride on the Fox River Trail. The trail runs on the east side of the river going north, and runs on the west side of the river going south from here. There is a safe cross-over path on the street bridge at the park. The park has several attractive features including a Splash Pad, a large Picnic Shelter, and a Band Shell. The park is right near the Fox River Dam, and that provides a great spot for beautiful scenery and fishing. The newly constructed promenade also is a great spot for fishing or for just rest and relaxation.
